Advocating for Your Child's Learning and Comprehension
Have you ever felt overwhelmed when trying to help your child navigate the world of modern education? You want the very best for your son or daughter with every learning advantage and opportunity for advancement made available.
The person who knows the most about your child is you, the parent, and your child.
Advocate Action of Andover, Massachusetts, provides educational advocacy and consulting locally and on a national level, anywhere in the United States and Canada. We help with something we call, The Clarity Process.
Our founder has worked with special education students and families for more than 20 years. She has been a special education administrator in public, charter, and private schools. She's also the parent of a son with a non-verbal learning disability (NVLD) and has an intimate personal understanding of the challenges a parent encounters when a child is struggling. He has graduated college and is now a graphic designer.
We've developed The Clarity Process, which emphasizes a child's perceptions of him/herself as related to learning experiences. Many of you have been through many painful evaluations of your child without seeing results. We felt the need to get to the "heart" of the child. Every child wants to learn, and we provide training for schools as well as parenting advocacy.
The process we use brings a practical understanding of your child's profile and learning style to your school, and most importantly, your child, who will learn to understand how he or she learns and how to overcome challenges. We believe every child wants to learn and are committed to working with parents and children, to enable every child to reach his or her potential.
Our mission is to help you and your child understand your legal rights and find the best course of action. We strive to be a supporter and expert adviser for your family throughout the special education process. We will support you as you learn to advocate for yourself.
Our company founder is also a licensed social worker (LCSW), and uses these clinical skills in The Clarity Process. She received her BA in Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and her MSc in Educational Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany. She is currently working on her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS). She continues to participate in ongoing advanced training programs at Harvard University.
We have expertise in Autism Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral Challenges, Complex Profiles, and Dual Diagnosis.
